I need a good 5-6 hours of garden clean up. Lots of weeding. Some pruning and cutting back . What I need done: Strip all the dead brown fronds and hanging skirts off the giant bird of paradise and banana clumps. This is the big one — there's a lot of dead material hanging in the middle of the bed. Some of it is above head height so you'll need a ladder or pole saw. Cut back the dead and browning fronds on the tree ferns and the lower fern clumps. Cut the fishbone ferns back off the lawn where they've crept out over the grass. Re-cut a clean, defined edge along the whole garden bed where it meets the lawn. Rake out the leaf litter and old dead fronds sitting under the plants in the beds. Tidy up the small deck area near the potting bench — a few dead plants in pots to pull out and stack. General weed pull through the bed edges.
