Top Financial Planning related questions

The cost of financial planning in Perth can vary depending on the type of advice you’re after and how detailed your plan needs to be. A full financial plan typically starts from around $1,000, with pricing increasing as your financial situation becomes more complex. This might include investment advice and long-term wealth structuring. For more specific or one-off advice, such as general investment guidance, costs are usually lower and can range from about $100 to $300.

Yes, same-day financial planning is possible in Perth, although it usually depends on the type of advice you need. This option tends to work best for more focused concerns rather than a full financial plan.

Many financial planners in Perth also use digital tools such as planning software and video calls to help speed up the process. These tools can streamline calculations and reduce the need for multiple in-person meetings, making it easier to deliver timely advice.

According to Airtasker’s data, demand for financial planning services in Perth tends to peak in May, making it one of the busiest times to book. This aligns with people preparing for the end of the financial year, reviewing their finances, or getting organised ahead of tax-related deadlines. Booking during this period may mean more competition for availability, so planning can help secure a suitable time.

On the other hand, October and December generally see lower activity. These quieter periods can offer more flexibility when booking a Tasker, which may suit those who prefer less urgency or want to take a more gradual approach to financial planning.

Airtasker’s data shows that the Perth CBD has the highest concentration of financial planning Taskers. As the city’s main commercial and business hub, it naturally attracts a larger number of professionals offering financial services, making it a convenient starting point for those seeking support. This central location also means easier access for clients working nearby or those who prefer to meet in person.

High earning potential in Perth often comes with a level of financial uncertainty. With the city’s strong ties to the mining and resources sector, incomes can fluctuate significantly. The laid-back, outdoorsy lifestyle also makes it easy for spending on dining and leisure to creep up alongside earnings. Add in the costs of pricier travel and everyday goods that come with being one of the world's most isolated cities. These factors make financial planning especially relevant for staying on track with long-term goals.

Across Perth, several financial planning tasks are posted regularly, with many Taskers in the area offering support tailored to different needs. This growing demand reflects broader economic conditions, including rising fuel costs and inflation. As households navigate these pressures, financial planners are ready to provide clarity and structure in decision-making.

With many Taskers maintaining strong ratings from client reviews, you can have access to reliable support when it comes to organising your finances. Whether it’s managing income or balancing expenses with long-term priorities, financial planning services play a key role in helping you build stability and make the most of the opportunities that the city offers.

What’s included in financial planning services

Here’s what you can typically expect when you book a financial planner in Perth. These services aim to help you achieve financial security.

Budgeting and monitoring cash flow

Taking control of day-to-day finances in Perth can be challenging, especially as it consistently ranks among Australia's most expensive cities to live in. Financial planners help map out income and expenses to create a sustainable budget that accounts for higher living costs and lifestyle spending.

Maintaining investment portfolios

With greater income opportunities in Perth, investing can play a bigger role in building long-term wealth. Taskers can recommend investment mixes and portfolios aligned with your future financial goals. This can help diversify beyond resource-driven income and create more stability over time.

Preparing for retirement

Retirement planning involves looking beyond current income and thinking about your financial needs in the years ahead. In Perth, where household expenses can be high, financial planners help set realistic retirement goals and build strategies to support them.

Assessing insurance and managing risk

Western Australia’s dry climate increases the risk of bushfires, with recent incidents affecting Perth and surrounding regional areas. Financial planners assess cover types, such as life insurance and home insurance, to help protect your assets and properties against these risks.

Managing debt and structuring wealth

Property ownership and lending are common in Perth, but managing debt can be overwhelming. Recent reports suggest that households allocate around 40% of their income to mortgages, while property values in many suburbs have doubled over the past five years. Financial planners identify ways to reduce or manage loans more effectively while structuring finances to support long-term wealth. This helps balance future financial stability with current obligations, even as economic conditions shift.

Why choose financial planning Taskers in Perth?

Taskers understand the relevant regulations and common challenges Perth’s residents face. Here’s why working with financial planners in Perth can help you make more informed financial decisions:

Most financial planners in Perth have local expertise

Financial planners in Perth understand the city's local landscape, and this knowledge is supported by formal qualifications. To legally provide financial advice in Perth and across Australia, a planner must hold or operate under an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL), in line with the Corporations Act 2001.

They are also required to pass the ASIC Financial Adviser Exam before offering services. This exam covers ethics, regulatory knowledge, and financial advice construction. Booking a Tasker with these credentials helps ensure the financial guidance you receive is compliant and professionally sound.

Most financial planners in Perth can address unique local challenges

Taskers in Perth are often familiar with how financial needs can vary across different suburbs. In areas like Mirrabooka, the community is shaped by a highly multicultural population, with over one-third of residents born overseas. Many households are managing on varied income levels while also sending money to family abroad. For residents here, financial planning often centres on building a practical budget and finding ways to support family without compromising their own financial stability.

In contrast, higher property values and living costs in South Perth may be more focused on managing larger assets while planning for the financial future. Many residents here are asset-rich but may have most of their wealth tied up in real estate. Services in these areas often centre on diversifying investments and preparing for retirement.

By understanding these local differences, Taskers in Perth can provide tailored financial advice that better reflects the realities of each suburb.

Most financial planners in Perth offer fast turnaround times

When your financial situation changes quickly, waiting weeks for advice isn't always an option. In the Perth CBD, where the city's commercial activity is concentrated, the client base tends to include professionals and business owners who regularly face time-sensitive decisions. The nature of work in this area means financial advice sometimes needs to come through quickly.

A similar need can be seen in coastal areas like Scarborough. This suburb has a high proportion of renters and young professionals, many of whom are making frequent decisions around leasing or short-term investments. When a rent increase lands or a relocation comes up, Taskers can offer timely financial guidance and practical advice.

Most financial planners in Perth can provide transparent, local pricing

Financial planner Taskers in Perth can offer upfront fees, and costs vary quite a bit depending on the type of financial advice you need.

In the Perth CBD, some planners charge between $200 and $300 for an initial meeting. Over in Scarborough, the average cost for financial advice sits at around $4,500 per year. That figure typically covers both limited and comprehensive ongoing advice. In Armadale, a strategy-only statement of advice starts from around $3,500, while in Mount Lawley, a full financial plan is priced at around $2,000.

These variations highlight how pricing often reflects the level of service. Comparing options across different areas can help you find a service that fits your needs and your budget.

What other related services can I book in Perth?

Depending on your situation, other services tend to complement financial planning well. You can choose to work with a tax advisor alongside a financial advisor, especially if you’ll be managing investments or income. Tax advisors can assist with returns, deductions, and compliance while also helping ensure that any financial strategies align with current tax rules. This can be particularly useful in Perth, where higher incomes or multiple income streams may require more careful tax planning.

Legal services are also worth considering, especially if your financial plan touches on business ownership or property. Contracts and business structures all have financial implications that need to be legally sound.

For those running businesses or working in trades and resource-related industries, business advisory services can add another layer of support. These services focus on improving business performance, while financial planning helps align personal and business finances. This combination can make it easier to manage income changes and plan with more clarity.

Personal assistant services can also complement financial planning, especially for busy professionals across Perth. Staying on top of documents, appointments, and regular financial tasks can take time. Having support to organise paperwork helps keep everything running smoothly. This can be particularly helpful when financial decisions require ongoing follow-through.
