Hi! I am a vintage/up-cycle start up business that is in search of a tailor that has the ability to follow pattern pieces. I currently have an influx of old and new stuff that I would like to rework into new items and designs. I have a sewing machine however don’t have the hours to commit. Per item made. I will pay the maker $10-15 per piece depending on complexity. To give example the first pieces I would like to create a dress from large shirts that I have on hand. I have purchased a pattern piece for this desired look and would be in search of someone who can articulate my design into a finished rework/upcycled piece. Ongoing Work We are looking for an experienced dressmaker to construct Irish dancing dresses. These are highly detailed performance costumes, so strong sewing skills, attention to detail, and experience with fitted bodices and structured skirts is essential. Ideally, you would be capable of creating patterns from measurements (princess bodice or embroidery bodice styles), however this is not compulsory. Guidance, templates and support will be provided for the first couple of dresses to ensure you are confident with our expectations and finish. Each dress will include: Fitted bodice Structured skirt Lining All embroidery will be completed prior and materials supplied. This is ideally an ongoing arrangement for the right person. As we expand, we are expecting to be creating 30+ dresses per year.
