I have a minor dent in my Mini countryman bit doesn’t require paint work. Hoping someone can pop it out

My muffler doesn’t fit the tip of the exhaust pipe on my bike. It’s too wide so even tightened to the maximum it’s still rattling as there’s room. I had a friend that welded it quickly and it held pretty well for about 8months. Just checking here to see if anyone could do anything similar. Any other idea is welcome.
