We need to do an electrical fit out for the back of our new Locksmith van (Staria Load 2023). My friend has given us advice as I have next to no knowledge about electrical. Below is a list of their setup along with an explanation: -140AH AGM battery -Redarc DC battery charger (due to smart alternator) -Redarc 1000W inverter -Big powerboard with individually switched sockets plus usb sockets -Twin usb 12V socket -Standard 12V socket (for fridge) -4x 300mm roof mounted LED lights with 2-way switching The front battery (12V) is the power source for the back battery (12V) which in turn is the power source for the inverter, extra lights and sockets (if desired). The inverter (changes 12V to 240V) is the supply for the powerboard (regular household 240V powerboard). Your key machines plug into the powerboard. The front battery can’t always be supplying the back battery otherwise it’ll probably run flat so it needs something to avoid this. With a standard alternator, the battery is charged when the car is running. What we can do is put a smart isolator between front and back battery that only connects the two when the front battery is being charged (by the alternator when the car is running). That way the front battery is always good. If the vehicle has a smart alternator, it only charges the front battery when it dips to a certain x voltage then cuts out again when it reaches a y voltage. This prevents overcharging and should extend alternator life. This means we can’t use our smart isolator (because it’s not always charging when the vehicle is running). In this case you need a battery charger. The trigger for the charger is ignition power (when the vehicle is on), but the feed still comes from the front battery. If you are able to complete this job could you please provide a quote and also when it could be completed by.
