I bought a dashcam / reverse camera on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0CKW65JPY). I then found someone on Facebook to install this in my car. He installed everything seemingly professionally, but I think he did the wiring for the reverse camera wrong. When I connect the reverse camera, the main unit (i.e. screen) blacks out. Soon as I unplug the reverse camera, the main unit turns on and starts working. The task: 1. fix up the wiring for the reverse camera. 2. If possible, I would also like main unit to be powered through wiring behind dash board, rather than through cigarette lighter. I don't know if this is possible - you're the expert, not me. Editing to add information: When the guy did the wiring for the reverse camera, he stripped a random wire and joined up the wire of the reverse camera to this random wire. The camera didn't work, with the same "symptoms" as currently - i.e. main unit worked, but as soon as you connect the reverse camera, the unit turns off. I pointed this out to the man, and he proceeded to connect the wire to some other wire. THe unit started to work, as expected. However, after 1 day, it is showing the same symptoms as before - main unit works, but as soon as you connect in the reverse camera, main unit switches off.

I have a 2008 D40 Nissan Navara 2.5L Diesel. The after market screen/headdeck connection is loose so the sound was fuzzy... And then suddenly, the wipers stopped working, the speedometer needles keep jumping up and down inaccurately, lights on the dash are all over the place, doesn't show when the indicators or headlights are on. When the car was switched off, the headlights stayed on and wouldn't switch off. When the car was restarted it was fine. Didn't happen again for a week until the car was taken on another long drive. After it happened the second time, the car was restarted, everything was fine but the cruise control is now not engaging. It may be an earthing issue or that the wiring has been fried from the loose connection with the stereo. Just need an auto electrician to look over it and see/fix what the issue is.
