Job Details & Scope: Vehicle: 2025 Kia Carnival GT-Line (Diesel) Equipment: Victron Energy fused eyelet connector cable (M8 ring terminals) Goal: Hardwire the eyelet lead to the battery terminals and route the quick-connect plug to a neat, accessible spot behind/near the front grille so the car can be charged on the driveway without opening the bonnet. Key Requirements & Best Practices: 1. Safety First: Remove the inline fuse from the harness prior to installation and reinsert only once all wiring and connections are finalized. 2. Solid Connections: Correctly torque eyelet terminals to battery posts/distribution block without disrupting existing vehicle sensor wiring (e.g., BMS sensor on negative terminal). 3. Protection: Encase the entire wiring run in suitable automotive split-conduit (corrugated tubing) to protect against engine heat, vibration, and sharp edges. 4. Clean Routing: Securely cable-tie the harness along existing factory wiring paths, keeping it well clear of moving engine parts or extreme heat sources. 5. Weatherproofing & Access: Position the quick-connect plug at the front grille so it is easy to reach, securely anchored, and protected from water/road debris when capped. 6. Testing: Verify correct polarity and test voltage at the quick-connect plug once the fuse is reinstalled and test battery charging.
