We are currently renovating a ground-floor bathroom (~4.5 sqm). The plumber was digging a pipe trench in the dirt subfloor and turned up a few pieces of bonded asbestos cement fragments and other builder’s waste such as plastic, plasterboard bits and rusty tins. The suspicious sample has been tested and confirmed positive. I have attached photos of the bathroom area, circled an example of the asbestos fragment that was found mixed in with the fill. At this stage we cannot determine the full extent or depth of the affected material. The approximate dimensions of the bathroom area are: · Length: 2.7 m · Width: 1.7 m · Depth: currently unknown, although based on the construction of this area, we expect the fill to be less than 300 mm deep Could you please provide a quote for the removal and disposal of the asbestos-contaminated fill from this area? I've got six bags of concrete rubble that have some asbestos sheeting scraps in them. Removed from back garden as part of recent reno. There isn't that much asbestos but I've been overly cautious and wrapped up rubble too so the bags are concrete heavy. I've bagged them in asbestos bags from REA.
