Hi Airtaskers! I'm looking for a skilled handyman, carpenter, or DIY expert to build a sturdy shelving unit to fit into a specific storage space in my home. The available space measures 65cm wide x 100cm deep x 250cm high, and I want a 5-level shelf setup where each shelf is approximately 65cm x 65cm (square shelves for even spacing and easy access). Key details: Design: Open shelving with 5 tiers (including the base if needed). The shelves should span the full 65cm width but only 65cm depth, leaving some extra space at front. Materials: Preferably timber or MDF for durability and affordability – something that can hold medium weight (books, boxes, up to 20kg per shelf). I'm open to suggestions on wood type, finishes (e.g., painted white or natural), or alternatives like metal if it fits the budget better. I can supply materials if preferred, or you can source them and add to the quote. Features: Adjustable shelf heights would be a bonus, but fixed is fine if it keeps costs down. Needs to be stable and secure – perhaps with wall anchors for safety. Timeline: Ideally completed within the next 1-2 weeks. Flexible on days/times – weekends work best. Reinstall kitchen cabinets + re-join benchtop (2 tall cabinets + 1 base) Description: I am looking for someone experienced in kitchen cabinetry reinstallation to refit cabinets that were removed for wall remedial work. Cabinets are intact and on-site. Photos attached. Scope of work: Reinstall 2 x tall cabinets in original position (pantry/tall units) Reinstall 1 x counter-height/base cabinet Level and plumb all cabinets (adjust/fit legs as required) so doors/drawers align properly Secure cabinets to wall (locate studs or use appropriate masonry fixings) and fix cabinets to each other so there is no movement Refit/align drawers, doors, hinges, runners and fronts (even gaps, smooth operation) Reinstall any cover panels / filler pieces / kickboards that were removed (if applicable) Benchtop: two sections were separated and need to be brought back together and stabilised Ensure join is flush and rigid Apply neat silicone/caulk to the benchtop join and where benchtop meets wall/splashback Notes: No new cabinetry supply required (reinstall only).
