I live in a 1970s time capsule & I’m restoring my ceiling to its original color before it was painted white it was pink! I need help making it colorful again. I would be providing the paint.

I have a small room that needs to be painted. I have tape, one roller, the paint but no drop cloths. It’s going over old fake wood paneling so not sure if it needs a light sanding or if one or two coats will do the trick. This might be ideal for someone who is familiar with this time of work in old homes.
