Shower head leaks - from the holes where the shower water normally comes out. Have to turn both hot and cold water taps off really hard to reduce dripping, but it still drips (cold water). Same story for kitchen sink ... cold water tap has to be turned off especially hard and when turned on, you get a sudden spurt. Red arrows show where the dripping happens.

I’ve been gifted a shiny new filtered shower head (the Afina Filtered Shower Head, for reference — I’ve included a photo). Very excited to use it… except my current setup is an ancient brass shower system, and sadly, the new head won’t fit. So here’s what I’m looking for: Someone who can replace my entire current shower system with something that will allow me to use this new head. I don’t know anything about plumbing, fittings, or what’s involved (humble non-plumber here), so I’m hoping for guidance on the simplest, most cost-effective way to make this work. We plan to fully renovate in a few years — so I’m not after high-end finishes or a luxury install. Just functional, tidy, and good enough to get me through until the reno. I’ve attached: Photos of the current system. A screenshot of the new shower head. The shower head is also listed on Amazon as “Afina Filtered Shower Head” if you want to check specs. Timing: Flexible on when this gets done, but sooner is better (especially as I have small children who make life noisy and chaotic).
