I have a manual 2009 ford fiesta that a been laid up for a couple months but back on the road now. when it’s sitting in neutral and engine is on it begins making a a chugging noise and sounds like it’s about to cut out but then doesn’t. The revs just go up and down until I put into gear again. No lights or anything on dashboard either. Any ideas on what this could be and if it can be fixed ?

I have purchased a 2007 Kawasaki Versys, 50kkm for a good price, it starts fine and runs well, a bit jolty on the clutch and need a bit of work done to get it up to scratch. I'm keen on learning to do things myself however for a general assessment of what needs done etc. I'm looking for an experienced mechanic who can help me write out a list of what needs replaced, what needs fixed/serviced etc. As an example, the indicator button is a bit on-off, is it in need of a good clean or better replacing it. I can come to your location if not too far also. I basically need a plan of action and an idea of costs to get it running and functioning as well as possible.
