Balcony door at Connells Point. The key won't turn the lock. The door still closes properly, it just won't lock. It's a SAB euro profile cylinder in an aluminium door with a lever handle. The external door handle has broken off (see photos). The lock itself is still working fine and can still be locked/unlocked with the key. I have already purchased a new replacement handle set. However, the new set has different measurements (the distance between the lock cylinder and the handle is different), so installing it would require drilling new holes and modifying the door. The handle and thumb lever will not move and the latch will not retract. The key cylinder was recently replaced but the internal lock body seems jammed/corroded. We’ve already tried: • Turning the key and lever • Removing/detaching the handle • Accessing the lock body • Cutting a small section of the aluminium around the lock area to expose the mechanism Despite this, the latch is still engaged and the door cannot open.
