Older panel-lift garage door struggles to open — the motor strains and the door gets stuck partway up. Door fails the manual balance test (heavy to lift by hand, won’t hold at waist height), so I suspect the torsion spring has lost tension or needs replacing. I have just reversed into my garage door as it was still going up and hit the bottom. It is the the bottom panel/rail that need to be put back into shape - everything is still full functional and opening and closing etc.
