Every existing rotary fan speed controller/dimmer must be changed to a plain on/off isolation switch. 1. Living room (ground floor), 48" fan. Straight swap for an existing 4-blade AC fan on a short downrod, flat ceiling. 2. Study/office (ground floor), 36" fan. Replaces a decorative glass pendant on a rotary dimmer. I've seen older photos of this room show a fan installed here at some point, but please do not assume the existing fixing is fan-rated.
