What does pool cleaning include?
Pool cleaning includes more than just making your pool look clean. A professional pool cleaner will also check the equipment around your pool and the quality of the water to make sure everything’s in good order. Pool cleaning can include basic clean, specific elements, or a deep clean, depending on how often you’d like to book. You can hire regular pool cleaners to come to your home every week, fortnight, or month. Or you might hire them on a one-off basis before a big event or pool party. Swimming pool cleaning services can include:
Chemicals and treatments
Just because your pool’s clean, doesn’t mean the water is (whether it looks green, cloudy, or clear)! One important part of swimming pool cleaning involves your pool technician testing your pool to gauge the quality of the water. They’ll check the result and treat your pool with chlorine or salt to balance the pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness of the water.
Filter cleaning
Pool filters do a lot of heavy lifting to keep your pool water nice and clean, so it’s important that they’re kept clean. Your pool technician will empty and backwash your filter before giving it a deep chemical clean. They’ll also check the filter cartridge to make sure it’s working properly and advise you if it needs replacing.
Equipment checkÂ
Once your pool is clean, your pool technician will check for any visible cracks, tears, leaks, and other visible damage. They’ll test any ladders and handrails to make sure they’re secure. Finally, they’ll inspect your pool’s pumps and engines to make sure they’re working properly. If anything seems out of place, they’ll let you know so you can organise a fix or replacement as soon as possible.
Deep clean
Most pools will require more than just the leaves scooped off the top to keep them clean and safe to swim in. Every few months (or if your pool is looking particularly dirty), your pool will need deep cleaning. Deep cleans are carried out by pool technicians who will get rid of built-up debris and clean out any smaller particles floating in the water. They’ll brush and vacuum the pool walls and floor with professional equipment before cleaning the decking around your pool, leaving your pool fresh, clean, and ready for swimming.
Spas
Pool cleaners work with all types of pools, including spas. So whether you’ve got a pool, a spa, or both, your pool cleaner will check the water balance, filters, and equipment to make sure it’s all clean and working properly.Â

Looking for a Pool Cleaning & Restoration Specialist
$150
Balmoral QLD 4171, Australia
20th Oct 2026
Looking for a Pool Cleaning & Restoration Specialist – Brisbane Hi everyone! I’m looking for a professional pool company in Brisbane to assess and restore my swimming pool. The pool has been left uncleaned for quite some time, the water is very green, and there are visible stains on the pool surface. I’m looking for someone who can provide a deep clean and proper restoration, not just a regular pool clean. Ideally, I need someone who can: * Thoroughly brush and clean the pool walls and floor. * Assess the stains and determine whether they can be removed. * Test and treat the water to bring the pool back to a safe, clean condition. * Advise whether the pool needs to be drained or requires a more specialised treatment. * Recommend any repairs or resurfacing if necessary. I’m looking for an experienced professional who can assess the overall condition of the pool and recommend the best long-term solution. Please comment below or send me a message with your recommendations and quotes. Thank you!

Our pool hasn't been serviced for a few weeks and there's a build-up of leaves on the surface and sitting on the bottom. I need someone with their own gear to bring it back to swimmable and give it a proper service. The previous pool attendant took the Creepy Crawler, and there is no cleaning apparatus in the pool. What I need done: Scoop and remove all leaves and debris — surface and floor Brush the walls, steps and waterline Vacuum the floor thoroughly Empty and clean the skimmer basket and pump basket Backwash or clean the filter as required Test the water and rebalance — chlorine/salt, pH, alkalinity, stabiliser Check the pump, chlorinator and equipment are running properly and flag anything that looks off Bag and remove the debris Pool details: See attached images Suburb: Bulimba Access: Will be on site to facilitate Equipment on site: See attached images Chemicals: please bring what's needed and include it in your offer. Alternatively, tell me what to buy, and I'll have it ready before you arrive. Flexible on timing — any day this week, happy to work around you.
Lyndsey was fantastic. Arrived on time, and our pool looks brand-new. Excellent job would highly recommend for any pool servicing requirements.
