What does a housekeeping service include?
Housekeeping services can include one-off services or regular domestic tasks (daily, weekly, or fortnightly), from cleaning and cooking to even home maintenance. Your housekeeper will bring along all the products and equipment they need to clean and maintain your home - all you need to do is tell them what you need done. Here’s how they can help:
Cleaning
The most common housekeeping service involves cleaning. This could include general cleaning, like vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and bathroom cleaning. Or it might include detail cleaning tasks like couch, curtain, floor, fridge, and rug cleaning. Depending on the number of tasks you’d like your housekeeper to complete, they may clean for just an hour, or up to the entire day. Your housekeeper will discuss a time that’s convenient for you, the tasks you need done, and the timeframe it should take to complete these tasks. If needed, they can bring their own cleaning supplies, like a vacuum cleaner and feather duster.
Organising and tidying
Many housekeepers offer professional organising services, where they help organise and tidy all areas of your home. This includes desks, filing cabinets, stationery, linen, wardrobes, toys, kitchen cupboards, garage interiors, and more. They’ll pull out all the items, organise them by category, and help you choose what you should keep, donate, or bin. They’ll also help by recommending suitable storage solutions to help you keep your home tidy for longer.
Cooking
Some housekeepers are available to help with cooking in your home. They might prepare a few snacks, or help prep several meals ahead of time so you don’t have to worry about cooking. Your housekeeper will present menu and recipe options for you to choose from and use your ingredient and kitchen supplies to cook everything in your kitchen. Once they’re done, they’ll store the freshly cooked food (with heating instructions) and clean up any mess.
Laundry
Washing and ironing starting to pile up? Housekeepers can help by putting on loads of washing, hanging clothes, loading the dryer, folding washing, ironing, and even putting it away. They’ll check the care labels to ensure appropriate washing/drying methods are used before they start the process. With some extra help, you’ll be all caught up on the laundry in no time.
Home maintenance
Many housekeepers are skilled in basic household maintenance tasks. But if they’re unable to do the job themselves, they’ll help organise and oversee skilled contractors who can help do repairs and maintenance in and around your home.

Hello, I need someone to come clean/tidy my place. I have a small studio. I have chronic pain and just need some help. My room just needs a tidy, clean, nothing in-depth, just general organising, put away clothes, helping deal with clutter, wipe down bench, etc and someone to help me clean my pets. I have domestic pet rats, and I will help with this. I need to do a full cage clean. They are friendly, never bite, clean. So no-one who is afraid of rats. Id like this done asap Its my birthday this week and I just would like a clean house... I can provide photos privately

Help Declutter & Organise Family Home (Frankston South)
$800
Frankston South VIC 3199, Australia
1st Apr 2026
Hi there, I’m looking for a thoughtful, practical person (or team) to help reorganise and reset my parents’ home in Frankston South. Over the years, they’ve accumulated quite a lot of belongings across the house and garage. It was once organised, but things have gradually built up and become a bit overwhelming. What they really need now is someone who can help sort, consolidate, and put everything back into the right places so the home feels functional and easy again. What I’m looking for help with: Sorting through household items and grouping similar things together Reorganising cupboards, storage areas, and rooms so everything has a clear place Consolidating items to reduce clutter and free up space Light cleaning as you go to freshen up areas Organising and clearing out a two-car garage (this is a key focus area) Helping identify items for donation or disposal Ideal person/team: Experience with home organisation / decluttering (not just cleaning) Calm, patient, and non-judgemental approach Practical mindset — someone who can make decisions and create order Comfortable with a hands-on job, including moving and sorting heavier items Details: Location: Frankston South, VIC Timing: Looking to have this completed before 14 April Flexible start dates, but preference for someone who can begin soon Likely a multi-day job depending on scope and progress This is really about helping bring a sense of calm and order back into the home — not just cleaning, but creating a system that makes things easier day-to-day. If this sounds like something you’re great at, I’d love to hear from you.
