Hi, I have a 2008 Saab convertible in Canberra that failed its NSW pink slip. It passed last year after an oil-leak repair, and I’m looking for the most cost-effective way to get it safely back on the road. The repairs noted as required to pass are: Rectify oil leaks Headlight lenses/reflectors UV damaged Rear lower control-arm bushes torn/split Rear bump stops deteriorated The check-engine light came on after the pink-slip inspection. It was not on beforehand and has not been cleared, so I’d like the fault codes scanned. I’m after a qualified mechanic who can inspect the car, advise what is essential to pass and be safe, and quote for the minimum necessary repairs. A careful engine-bay and underside clean may also be useful to confirm whether the oil leaks are active or old residue. Basically, I bought a car that had damage on the left side door, and I believe that’s the door with the faulty sensor. The sensor is located inside the door. What needs to be done is actually pretty simple, basically remove the door trim/plastic panels to access the latch and make it stay permanently activated, so the car stops showing the door open warning symbol. The Mazda 3 is a 2008 model.
