Your local upholstery cleaner will remove all the cushions and vacuum the couch to remove any dust in the crevices. They will then apply the cleaning agent, leaving it to soak in and draw out the dirt particles. If your couch has been steam cleaned, it may need several hours to dry before you can use it again.
Stain removal
