We need help improving drainage around my yard. The soil is heavy clay and water tends to pool after rain and against the house. It becomes like swampland. The job involves shaping and levelling the ground so that water flows away correctly, and adding sandy loam (turf underlay) to improve drainage and soil quality over time. We've just put gymsum down but that of course takes a few months. Total area: approx. 140 m². I’ll add photos for clarity. We are planning to install a box cutter/channel along the fence and connect into the downpipe - not part of the job at this point but we could discuss it. I mention this to provide the complete picture. As per our measurement, the slope from the "back house wall house to the street (top of curb) is 2-2.5%, so not much to work with! I need a hand laying turf. All prep is done and ground is ready to go. Turf is getting delivered on Tuesday morning. So I need someone fit to help unload the pallets and lay the turf. It is about 400m2. I’ll be laying it too, so need someone to work with me. Budget is based off $35/hr for 6 hrs.
