We are looking for someone to assist with reconfiguring a number of office workstations into a new layout. This is a hands-on job involving the disconnection, moving and reconnection of office desks and associated equipment. A floor plan will be provided showing the new desk configuration. What the job involves 1. Prepare and disconnect existing workstations • Remove monitors and monitor stands from desks. • Disconnect docking stations. • Unplug and disconnect Ethernet/network cables. • Disconnect power boards and power cables. • Carefully place monitors, docks, cables and other equipment in a temporary storage area. • Label or keep equipment together where required so it can be reinstalled at the correct workstation. 2. Move and reconfigure the desks • Disconnect/remove some desk divider panels before the desks are moved. • Move adjustable desk risers from the existing desks to their new locations. • Move desks into their new positions according to the supplied floor plan. • I will be assisting with moving the desks • Reinstall/reposition desk panels as required. 3. Set up the new workstations Once the desks are in their new positions: • Reinstall the adjustable desk risers. • Reconnect power boards and power cables. • Reconnect Ethernet/network cables. • Reinstall docking stations. • Reinstall monitors and connect them to the docking stations. • Ensure cables are safely and neatly routed. • Leave each workstation tidy and ready for use. Requirements • Previous experience moving office furniture or setting up office workstations would be an advantage. • Physically capable of moving office desks and furniture safely. • Comfortable handling monitors and other office equipment carefully. • Able to follow a floor plan and instructions accurately. You will not be required to configure computers, troubleshoot software or perform any technical IT work. The role is primarily the physical disconnection, relocation and reconnection of workstation equipment.
