Traditionally used in shipping and airfreight, smart DIYers have been turning these pallets into furniture for homes, restaurants and offices.
WHY? In addition to looking cool, pallets are cheap and, with a bit of know-how, can be made into almost any furniture substitute.
You can pick up cheap (or free) pallets from gumtree or eBay, or go to a distributor such as Direct Pallets. You'll also need a few power tools, paint or stain, and a bit of creativity. If you don't have the time or it's not something you enjoy doing, then why not get some handyman help from an Airtasker in your neighbourhood?
