Replacement of rotten timber beams on pergola and paint Work required: • Replace horizontal beam at 1. Will need to provide temporary support at location of horizontal beam (at 1) to prevent pergola collapse. Beam is 3000mm x 50mm x 145mm • Replace vertical supports at 2 and 3. Supports are 1230mm x 100mm x 100mm (at 2) and Supports are 850mm x 100mm x 100mm (at 3). Replace rusted stirrups at 2 and 3. Repair/make good damaged brick work where existing stirrups are located. • Replace support beam at 4. Beam is bolted to house wall. Beam is 3900mm x 120mm x 35mm. Bevel end of beam as per existing. • Remove existing 90mm x 35mm cross slats at 5 and fill nail holes. Replace with suitable structurally stable cross beam. Existing slats span 3000mm across pergola. The existing 90mm x 35mm cross slats are nailed to 45mm x 120mm beams currently in good condition. • Assume fixing bolts require replacement on beams that are to be replaced. • Prepare timber surface and re-paint of whole pergola. Paint will be provided. Note: Tree that is wrapped around the pergola in the photos has been removed. Optional: 1) Would be keen to negotiate (for an additional fee) to have the lattice structure and mirror along the fence removed. The lattice is held up by 2 wooden vertical supports that were set into cement poured into the post holes in the soil. 2) Refurbish/repair existing lattice/mirror feature or replace lattice/mirror feature with something equivalent. Attach feature to pergola via suitable fixings rather than set independent vertical supports.

Will need to climb onto roof and remove the sheets. No repairs or further work is required.

Let me know how long it would take you and when you can do it. Remove the brackets etc from the wall and not just cut the beams off. All rubbish to be taken away

Pergola needs to be fixed. Not replaced. The pergola will not eventually stay, due to building requirements. If required, I am able to provide all wood, it just has to be picked up from a nearby place. A lot of the wood is rotting, and would need to be replaced. Some of it is good, still. I am happy to consider a new pergola if the pricing is good, and remains fixed, and there are no hidden costs.
