Structure Requirements • Posts: 90×90 mm H4 treated pine • Beams: 90×240 mm LVL (no overhang; beams sit flush on posts) • Cross‑ties: 90×45 mm timber battens at ¾ height for trellis mesh • Span: Approx. 4 m • Load: Decorative only (festoon lights + ivy canopy) Beam‑to‑Post Connections • Beams must sit flush on top of posts with no overhang. • Concealed brackets or half‑housing joints required. • No visible external pergola brackets. • Once painted, the beam and post should appear as a single continuous element. This is a newly built pergola. On top of the perforated metal sheeting is 6mil Perspex sheets. The metal fabricator made a basic attempt at trying to make this Watertight with silicon however acknowledged that this was not his area of expertise and it is quite evident that when it rains there are areas under the pergola which still get quite wet Looking for someone who is experienced with waterproofing. The job would involve getting on top of the metal structure and also possibly using silicon from underneath as well.
