Looking for a patient, friendly, and encouraging basketball coach for 1:1 sessions with my 14-year-old son. He has never played or practiced basketball before and wants to build basic skills and confidence so he can comfortably join in and enjoy his school PE lessons. We are strictly looking for foundational skill-building in a low-pressure environment—not high-level competitive coaching or club prep. What we're looking for: 1. Mandatory: Current Working with Children Check (WWCC). 2. Beginner-Friendly & Patient: Ability to teach an absolute beginner starting completely from scratch. 3. Core Fundamentals: Basic ball handling/dribbling, simple passing, proper shooting form, and basic game flow/rules. 4. Relatable & Encouraging: A positive, supportive attitude to keep sessions engaging and pressure-free. Schedule & Commitment: 1. Initial Trial: Starting with 1–2 initial trial sessions to ensure he feels comfortable and enjoys the coaching style. 2. Duration: If it’s a good fit, extending up to 4 to 6 weeks total (1 hour per week). No long-term lock-in if he decides it's not for him! Timing: 1 hour / week on Saturdays or Sundays. Venue: Preferably an indoor basketball court around Heathmont, Knox, Wantirna, Ringwood and surrounding area. Once a week at 7:30 - 8:30 take my 8 year old son to a local basketball ring/court and shoot some hoops, practice skills. He loves basketball and wants to practice as much as he can. May involve dropping him to school after (in ascot vale)
