Looking for a qualified mechanic or experienced auto electrician to diagnose and repair a starting issue on my 2007 Toyota Hilux Workmate 2WD petrol. The car recently stopped running after losing power while driving. It needed a jump start and then drove about 2km before the radio and electronics started cutting out and the vehicle lost power and stalled. A brand new battery has been installed but it still won’t start properly. I suspect it may be a faulty alternator, but I would like someone to confirm the issue and replace the alternator or fuel pump if required.

Replacement of my alternator for Toyota rav 4 2005 I do have the new alternator already.

There is a whistling sound coming from under the bonnet when the vehicle starts. It is louder when the vehicle is started when the air con is on. It disappears when the vehicle is in motion.

I am currently overseas at the moment but my Partner said she went to the shop. Car wouldn’t start when she tried to leave. Lights on dash all come on. Steering in to a car park was a little hard prior to the car not starting. RACQ came out and said high chance it’s the alternator. He jump started it however wasn’t enough power kicking through to keep the car started. Not sure the price range for this hence why I’ve put any in the price listing. Any help is appreciated. Cheers

Car starts if u jump in but doesn’t stay on long .. I’m guessing either battery or alternator needs replacing?? Can you check the voltage on the battery and let me know - was working fine do suspicious it could just need a charge ! Can buy part
