Hi, I need a licensed electrician for a few jobs at my place in Kingsford (old single-storey brick house). I've already got the main parts, so it should be mainly labour. 1. Living room lights: swap the 6 old halogen downlights for new LED ones (SAL Wave, plug-in type, 72mm cut-out). Remove the old transformers and lamp holders, fit a plug base on a joist next to each light (not buried in insulation), and set the lights to warm white (3000K). The existing holes are about 70mm – please don't enlarge them unless necessary. Test one on the dimmer before fitting the rest, and take a photo of where the plug bases are. 2. Living room switch: replace it with a Clipsal Iconic switch + rotary dimmer (switch on the left, dimmer on the right). Brick wall and the dimmer is about 55mm deep, so it may need chasing deeper. No flicker or buzz when dimmed, and please set the minimum level. 3. Data cable: run one Cat6A cable (about 15m) from the bedroom to the living room through the ceiling, using the existing holes. Cable and keystones are shielded – please bond the foil and drain wire to the keystone at both ends. Registered cabler needed. 4. Safety check: switchboard and roof wiring, especially an old junction point on a timber block. Fix anything unsafe (ask me first if it costs extra). Remove old dead wiring and fittings that definitely aren't needed. Please leave the alarm panel alone. 5. Wiring: let me know if the house wiring is old or worn. 6. Quote only for now – do I need these, and how much? - New switchboard - Upgrade from 80A to 100A - Three-phase – is it available in my street, and roughly what would it cost? - Surge protector I'm also planning ducted AC, a heat pump, solar + battery and maybe an EV charger – does that change anything now? Good to know: - Ceiling and insulation tested – no asbestos. - Ceiling is fragile – please only step on joists. Please include your licence no., ABN and insurance. CCEW needed on completion. Feel free to quote. Thanks!

Timber & Glass Pergola – Build & Installation Location: Kensington, NSW Approximate dimensions: 12m wide x 4m projection Looking for a pergola builder or capable, savvy handyman to build and install a timber-framed pergola with a glass roof at our home in Kensington. We have an existing covered outdoor patio with a tiled roof, rendered columns and travertine paving. We’d like to extend the covered area approximately 4 metres out over the lawn, running approximately 12 metres across the back of the house. The new structure will be a timber pergola with clear glass roof panels, creating a light-filled outdoor entertaining area. The existing tiled roof, patio, columns and travertine paving are to remain unchanged. The new pergola will extend beyond the existing roofline and out over the grass. We’re looking for a simple, contemporary design with a timber frame and neat, quality finish that complements the existing house. We have photos of the house and visual mock-ups of what we’re looking to achieve a bit of a before and after Please get in touch with an indication of cost and whether you can supply materials and complete the installation.

Bathroom, Laundry & Kitchen Tiling – Looking for a Professional Tiler I’m looking for an experienced tiler who can also carry out waterproofing for a bathroom, laundry and kitchen renovation. I’ve attached photos and dimensions of the bathrooms and laundry for reference. Scope of work: * Full-height wall tiling to 2.7m in both bathrooms. * Floor-to-ceiling tiling, including tiling into window reveals and niches. * Neat tile trims around sliding doors. * Full-height tiling in the laundry. * Bathroom and laundry floors to be tiled using standard square floor wastes. * Kitchen tiling using large-format tiles (still deciding on the tile selection). Tiles: The selected tile for the bathrooms and laundry is 62T100 Calcatta in 1200 x 600mm. This tile will be used on the floors and continued up the walls. Waterproofing: Looking for someone who can complete the waterproofing, including a waterproofing layer beneath the screed and another layer above the screed, where required. Materials: I will supply all materials, including tiles, waterproofing products, trims and other required materials. Looking for someone experienced with large-format tiles who takes pride in their workmanship and can achieve a clean, high-quality finish. Please provide a quote based on the photos and dimensions, along with your availability and experience with similar projects.

Looking for someone experienced with small petrol engines or lawn mower repairs to inspect and hopefully get my older Masport mower running again. It's a Masport Quantum/Procom 500 Series mower, fitted with a Briggs & Stratton 4.5HP I/C Industrial/Commercial engine with a cast-iron bore. The mower currently won't start, but otherwise appears to be in good condition. It's an older, solidly built mower with a quality engine, so I'd prefer to repair it rather than replace it if possible. Looking for someone who can diagnose the problem, carry out an affordable repair and give it a basic service if required. Ideally someone with experience repairing older Briggs & Stratton engines. Happy to discuss a reasonable price.
