Airbnb Cleaning Jobs in Melbourne City CBD

Ways to Earn Money as an Airbnb Cleaner on Airtasker

Airbnb cleaning is one of the most consistently posted job types on Airtasker. These tasks typically involve short-term rental cleaning between guest stays. You’ll need to supply your own equipment, but you can set your own rates and make direct offers on tasks. As you build reviews and reliability, you’ll start showing up more in search results and get invited to more cleaning gigs.

Airbnb Turnover Cleaning

Turnover cleans are the most common type of Airbnb cleaning task on Airtasker, and they offer a reliable way to earn a regular income. These jobs usually need to be done in a tight window, so being punctual and efficient is key. Taskers are expected to strip and change bed linen, clean kitchens and bathrooms, wipe down surfaces, empty bins, restock essentials like toilet paper and coffee, and re-stage the property so it’s guest-ready. If you’re reliable and detail-oriented, these quick turnaround jobs can become steady, well-paying work.

Deep Cleaning

Deep cleans are less frequent but pay significantly more, making them a great option for Taskers who take pride in thorough, detailed work. These jobs are often booked before a host’s first Airbnb guest or following events like parties. You might be scrubbing grout, cleaning ovens inside and out, wiping down cupboard interiors, washing walls, or clearing out renovation dust. These tasks usually take longer and require more effort, but they’re ideal for experienced cleaners who want to earn more per booking and build a reputation for professional Airbnb cleaning.

General House Cleaning

General house cleaning is one of the easiest ways for Airbnb cleaners to earn extra income on Airtasker, especially in between turnover jobs. These tasks usually involve vacuuming, dusting, and wiping down surfaces. It’s a steady way to build up a regular client base, and many homeowners who book general cleans eventually become Airbnb hosts — giving you the chance to upsell into more specialised short-term rental cleaning down the track.

End-of-Lease and Bond Cleaning

End-of-lease cleaning jobs are some of the highest-paying tasks on Airtasker. These jobs usually come up when a property is shifting from long-term rental to Airbnb, or after a lengthy guest stay. The work is more intensive than standard cleans and often includes steam cleaning carpets, sugar-soaping walls, and scrubbing windows and high-touch areas. You’ll likely need to bring your own gear, and sometimes even a steam cleaner or ladder. If you’re thorough and reliable, these bigger cleans are a great way to boost your income fast.

Spring Cleaning

Spring cleaning jobs pop up most often before peak hosting seasons like summer holidays or the New Year, and they’re a great way for Taskers to earn more per clean. These jobs are similar to deep cleans but tend to focus on full-home refreshes. They’re often booked well in advance by Airbnb hosts or homeowners wanting their place in top shape for guests. Because of the extra time and detail involved, spring cleans usually attract higher rates and are ideal for cleaners looking to boost income during busy periods.
