What do wallpaper hanging services include?

Our wallpaper hanging services involve prepping and measuring your walls to ensure a smooth and flawless wallpaper application. From there, our professional wallpaper installers hang your wallpapers in place and adjust or trim any excess for a perfect finish. Here's what you can expect:

Prepping your walls

Before the installation can begin, you need to remove any wall decor, electric outlet covers, or furniture that might get in the way. It's also wise to take note of any wall textures or damages like dents and scratches and have them repaired by a skilled tradesman to ensure a flawless wallpaper application.

Once your walls are in the clear, your wallpaper fitter can start prepping your walls which typically involves:

  • Smoothening your walls using sandpaper
  • Cleaning your walls with soap and water and a sponge to get rid of any excess dirt
  • Applying wallpaper primer to protect your walls. Doing so can also help with the removal process later on as it prevents the wallpaper from sticking completely to your wall.

Measuring your walls

Once your walls are prepped and ready to go, your wallpaper fitter then measures the height and width of your walls using a tape measure. This step can help determine how much wallpaper the room or area needs. Afterward, they can proceed with cutting your wallpaper into strips while taking note of the recorded measurements and leaving a bit of excess for trimming purposes.

Hanging your wallpaper

The installation process will depend on the type of wallpaper you have. Your fitter pastes the wall using a roller and wallpaper paste and hangs your wallpaper strips in place. They can smoothen the paper out with a paperhanging brush, going from the center outwards to remove any creases. They can also use a level to make sure that the strips are properly aligned. Don't worry if there's any excess paper at the bottom, as your fitter can easily cut it down using a trimming knife.

If you're getting a pre-pasted wallpaper installed, your fitter may need to soak the strips in lukewarm water for a few minutes or according to the manufacturer's instructions. Afterward, they can either let it sit for a bit to activate the paste or go straight to placing the paper onto your walls.

Peel and stick wallpapers with adhesive backing are much more forgiving since you can just literally stick them to your walls and remove them right away if needed. However, they may still require the same steps of measuring, cutting, smoothening, and trimming upon installation.

If you're happy with the bold paint on your wall but looking for a way to spruce it up, a wallpaper mural can do the trick! Wallpaper mural installation involves placing unique decals on your wall to add to your interior's aesthetic, from small accents and designs to large-scale murals.
