My sewing machine needle goes up and down normally, and the feed dogs (the little metal teeth under the presser foot) are definitely moving. However, the fabric does not move forward at all. The stitch length setting also doesn't seem to make any difference. Instead of feeding the fabric, the machine just stitches in one spot and creates a bird's nest of thread underneath. I've already checked the common suggestions people usually mention (it's not the stitch length setting, the feed dogs are up and moving, etc.), and none of those have solved it.
