I need a registered Building Surveyor to: * Review my proposed renovation and kitchen extension; * Advise what documents are required; * Confirm whether a Building Permit can be issued; * Provide a quote for issuing the Building Permit and carrying out the required inspections. Proposed works include: * Internal renovation of the existing dwelling; * Kitchen extension; * Carport; * Replacement of all windows with double or triple glazing; * Enclosing an existing patio to reduce road noise. A planning permit application for a separate rear dwelling is currently being assessed by Council. In the meantime, I would like to determine whether the above works can proceed and obtain a Building Permit as soon as possible. Hi, I am looking for an experienced Victorian-registered building surveyor or building consultant who has dealt with council inspection notices, retrospective approvals, and shed conversions into bathroom/toilet areas. I recently received a notice of inspection from Monash Council regarding a shed that was converted into a bathroom and toilet. After an in-house inspection today, I discovered that the bathroom and toilet could be classified as a non-habitable area if it is less than 10 sq m I need someone who can: Assist with permits or retrospective approvals for the works already completed. Review the current setup and advise on compliance requirements. Help navigate council requirements and the approval process. The works completed so far include plastering, initial plumbing (drainage and storm water connection, and roofing. Tiling, electrical work, and fixtures are still pending. All completed works were carried out by licensed tradespeople. When we bought the house, the basement already had a concrete slab, which is why we started the work. Unfortunately, the neighbour was not happy with the wall extending approximately 0.7m above the fence at the back. After reviewing the Section 32, I believe the structure may be on the easement; however, the council officer did not mention this during the inspection. Instead, they advised that we would receive a notice outlining the required actions and that we should engage a registered building surveyor or building consultant to assist with the retrospective approval process.
