What does pool cleaning include?
Pool cleaning includes more than just making your pool look clean. A professional pool cleaner will also check the equipment around your pool and the quality of the water to make sure everything’s in good order. Pool cleaning can include basic clean, specific elements, or a deep clean, depending on how often you’d like to book. You can hire regular pool cleaners to come to your home every week, fortnight, or month. Or you might hire them on a one-off basis before a big event or pool party. Swimming pool cleaning services can include:
Chemicals and treatments
Just because your pool’s clean, doesn’t mean the water is (whether it looks green, cloudy, or clear)! One important part of swimming pool cleaning involves your pool technician testing your pool to gauge the quality of the water. They’ll check the result and treat your pool with chlorine or salt to balance the pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness of the water.
Filter cleaning
Pool filters do a lot of heavy lifting to keep your pool water nice and clean, so it’s important that they’re kept clean. Your pool technician will empty and backwash your filter before giving it a deep chemical clean. They’ll also check the filter cartridge to make sure it’s working properly and advise you if it needs replacing.
Equipment check
Once your pool is clean, your pool technician will check for any visible cracks, tears, leaks, and other visible damage. They’ll test any ladders and handrails to make sure they’re secure. Finally, they’ll inspect your pool’s pumps and engines to make sure they’re working properly. If anything seems out of place, they’ll let you know so you can organise a fix or replacement as soon as possible.
Deep clean
Most pools will require more than just the leaves scooped off the top to keep them clean and safe to swim in. Every few months (or if your pool is looking particularly dirty), your pool will need deep cleaning. Deep cleans are carried out by pool technicians who will get rid of built-up debris and clean out any smaller particles floating in the water. They’ll brush and vacuum the pool walls and floor with professional equipment before cleaning the decking around your pool, leaving your pool fresh, clean, and ready for swimming.
Spas
Pool cleaners work with all types of pools, including spas. So whether you’ve got a pool, a spa, or both, your pool cleaner will check the water balance, filters, and equipment to make sure it’s all clean and working properly.

Title: Pool Pump & Cleaning System Inspection and Repairs
$50
Palm Beach QLD 4221, Australia
17th Oct 2026
Hi! I’m looking for someone experienced with pool maintenance to inspect my pool equipment and help get the pool cleaning system working again. The pump has been making noise, the pump basket has had a lot of air in it and is almost empty, and there is currently no water coming out of the in-floor cleaning jets. I’ve also noticed some possible leaks around the equipment, and the pool water level has been low. The pool has a Waterco sand filter, saltwater chlorinator and Dontek controller. The job involves: * Inspecting the pool pump and filtration system to identify the issue. * Checking for leaks, blockages or air getting into the system. * Checking the water circulation and in-floor cleaning jets. * Completing any basic troubleshooting or repairs where possible. * Advising me of any additional repairs or parts required. I’m not sure exactly what the issue is, so I’m looking for someone who can diagnose the problem and recommend the best solution. Please have relevant pool maintenance experience and bring any necessary tools. Let me know your availability and quote, including any additional costs for parts or repairs. Thanks!

Title: Professional Pebblecrete Pool Cleaning & Stain Removal Looking for an experienced pool cleaning specialist to thoroughly clean and restore the pebblecrete surface of my concrete pool. There are various stains and deposits, potentially algae, calcium, metals or other buildup, particularly around the edges, walls and water jets. I’ve already tried scrubbing and some acid treatments, which helped slightly, but I’m looking for someone with the right experience, equipment and products to properly clean the entire surface. Scope of work: * Deep clean the entire pebblecrete pool surface, including floor, steps and walls. * Remove stains, algae, calcium and mineral deposits where possible. * Thoroughly clean all edges, corners and the waterline around the pool. * Identify the staining and use appropriate treatments that won’t damage the pool finish. Goal: Get the pool looking clean, fresh and as close to its original condition as possible. Please only respond if you have experience with pebblecrete/concrete pools and professional stain removal. Photos attached.
