Feed dog & cat 3 nights (dog is terminally ill)

$150

Mount Gravatt QLD, Australia

20th Dec 2020

We are headed away for Christmas and need someone to feed our dog, Spike and cat, Millie for 3 nights, from 23rd to 25th December 2020. We found out last week that Spike has liver cancer and is expected to live for 1 month, though the vet warned that it may be shorter. He is still very happy atm, wagging his tail and eating normally and otherwise for the majority of the day, rests. We have considered taking him with us but if he gets a hard bump his cancer may rupture. Unfortunately if he gets a rupture the only option will be for him to be euthanised. By keeping him in his routine that we expect that he will be able to make it through the holidays without incident, but wanted to be open and honest in this listing, so that you can be prepared if the worst happens. Your duties will be to: - visit once daily, preferably afternoon, and feed the cat and dog. (All food and instructions will be provided) - during feeding check that the dog is eating his food, and look for signs of lethargy or illness, pale gums, tail between his legs, tail not wagging. - send me a text/ call me to let me know his status Please note - we have an outdoor camera on our back deck so we will also monitor him at other times of day aswell. If during your check, he seems unwell, you will need to be prepared to: - call or facetime me (Kathleen) - if required, take the dog to our vet in Mt Gravatt or afterhours vet in Underwood and have the vet to euthanise the dog I will leave a written authority for you to make required medical decisions for him for the dates we are away, and can be reached anytime on my mobile to settle the vets bill. Happy to meet up beforehand if you would like to meet him, get instructions in person.

Thanks, Alex, for taking such good care of our pets while we were away.
