I'm a co-director Claire working on my film, and we are currently looking for professional, hands-on makeup artist with an experience in prosthetic makeup and special effects, particularly working across both facial and body makeup. For our two main characters (a married couple), our vision is to create an uncanny, absurd and surreal look. We are aiming for something that feels unsettling and strange rather than traditionally “fantastical” or creature-like. Our production design team and I have been inspired by films such as Backrooms (2026), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) and Obsession (2026), which I would be happy to send through as visual references. We’ll also be doing a trial makeup run with our two amazing actors on Monday, 21 September, to experiment with and develop the characters’ looks.
