Hi, I need a locksmith or experienced handyman to supply and install the missing strike plate / keeper for an aluminium office door. • The door lock itself is working perfectly • The issue is that the part on the aluminium frame where the latch/lock goes into is missing • Because of this, the door doesn’t lock. • Door and frame are aluminium • Photos of both the door edge (lock) and the aluminium frame are attached for reference I’m not sure if: • The existing lock can be fixed by adding the correct strike plate, or • If the lock needs partial replacement (only if absolutely necessary) I’d prefer to keep the current lock if possible and just install the correct matching part. We’ve installed a ubolt dead lock that is a tiny bit sensitive and get jammed frequently. It will still lock, but with a jam message. The only way to avoid the error is to pull our door shut VERY TIGHTLY and lock. I’m worried it’s damaging our door, so would love to fix it. Open to your expertise, if you can fix it, great.
