Replace rotted structural beam on front stair landing (Banyo) Looking for an experienced carpenter or licensed builder to inspect and replace a rotted structural support beam on our front stair landing in Banyo (Brisbane). As shown in the photos, the front bearer supporting the landing is significantly deteriorated (likely water damage and/or possible termite activity). We are looking for a proper structural repair — not a temporary patch. Inspect stair landing and confirm full extent of damage Temporarily support structure if required Remove decking boards to access beam Remove and dispose of rotted structural beam (front bearer) Supply and install new structural beam (treated hardwood / LVL or recommended alternative) Reinstate decking boards (replace any damaged boards if needed) Check and reinforce connections to posts and balustrade Identify and flag any termite or moisture issues Ensure structure is safe, level, and fit for purpose Clean up and remove waste Qualified/experienced carpenter or builder Experience with structural timber repairs Own tools and materials Ability to recommend best long-term solution (not just like-for-like replacement) Provide itemised quote (labour + materials separated) Location: Banyo, Brisbane QLD Timing: Flexible — ideally within the next 1–2 weeks Happy for site inspection before final quote Additional Notes: Photos attached for context Open to recommendations (e.g. hardwood upgrade, steel reinforcement, moisture protection improvements) Please include examples of similar work if available.

Looking to enclose a small outdoor balcony/void area on the side of my house in Blakeview. Currently looking for quotes at the moment. Current setup: Glass balustrade on one side Metal/privacy screen on another Partial roof already installed Open gaps allowing rain and weather in Scope of work: Design, supply and install framing and walling to fully enclose the space Ensure complete weatherproofing (no water or wind ingress) Work around existing balustrade and structure Match modern finish with clean lines and dark/black framing Potential to include a door or access point (open to best solution) Open to material suggestions: Timber frame with cladding Aluminium framing Composite/weatherproof panels End goal: A fully enclosed, sealed space that looks like part of the original build, not an add-on. Hi, I have two staircases that need repairs to them. Please provide all materials. The house is highset 2metres. 1. The front staircase needs existing balustrade and posts removed and replaced with new compliant timber balustrade. Refer Image 1. Preferably prepped and painted (optional). Just after basic exterior grade timber balusters such as H3 rated pine, similar to image 2. 2. The backstairs needs a hardwood timber post replaced. Connected from the stair tread to the awning roof. Preferably prepped and painted (optional). refer images 3 and 4

External timber staircase requires repair due to structural damage. The handrail/balustrade has come loose from the main support post, with visible splitting and weakening of the timber at connection points. Some sections appear cracked and unstable, posing a safety risk when using the stairs. Looking for an experienced handyman or carpenter to: * Inspect the staircase * Repair or replace damaged timber components (handrail/support connections) * Reinforce the structure to ensure it is safe and secure * Advise if any additional work is required Stairs are located outside and exposed to weather.
