Home office laptop (HP) was disconnected from docking station (Targus) (for multi screens) and HDMI connection used for a presentation elsewhere. When reconnected the Laptop/USB C port is not recognised by the docking station so have lost multi screens. Hardware configuration checked and ok (as previous), Have uninstalled/reinstalled drivers and bus controllers without success. No obvious damage to port or cords.

I am building a small 3 bedroom home in country Victoria and am currently at the **electrical rough-in stage**. I need an experienced **smart home automation designer/integrator** to create a practical plan my electrician and builder can implement. Starlink is planned. I am looking for a reliable wireless smart home approach using Wi-Fi/Zigbee/Matter where appropriate. I am considering **Home Assistant Green as the central smart home hub**, but open to recommendations. I will provide specifications for key home systems and smart devices, including heating/cooling, floor heating, fireplace, camera/security systems, appliances and other Wi-Fi/smart devices. I need a design plan covering: * Smart home platform, architecture and hub location * Device integration to minimise multiple apps * Smart lighting and switch strategy * Electrical requirements before walls are closed * Heating/cooling, fireplace, cameras and sensors integration * Network requirements with Starlink **Lighting preferences:** * Low-profile modern switches similar to **Hager Silhouette or Clipsal Solis** * No dimmers required - focus on reliable smart switching **Deliverables:** * Smart home plan for electrician and builder * Hardware/product recommendations * Integration and automation approach * Rough cost estimate and advice on essential vs optional items * Guidance on what must be done now versus later I need someone with real hands-on residential smart home design experience, not just a generic AI-generated plan. Looking for practical knowledge of installation, compatibility and long-term reliability. Experience with Home Assistant Green, Matter, Zigbee, Clipsal Wiser, Hager, C-Bus, Control4 or similar is preferred. Please include examples of residential smart homes you have designed and your availability.
