Raise the cabinet’s bottom panel by 9 cm so the opening below increases from 180 cm to 189 cm. Rebuild and secure the bottom panel properly. Here is more detailed recommendation: Final fridge opening: 189 cm Cabinet width: 97 cm Existing cabinet height: 45 cm New cabinet height: 36 cm Total reduction: 9 cm Cabinet doors Do not remove 9 cm from the bottom of the doors. The bottom cut would pass through the handle holes and change the handle-to-bottom spacing compared with the other kitchen cabinets. Instead: Remove 9 cm from the top edge of each door. Keep the original bottom edge and handle holes unchanged. Reinstall the shortened doors 9 cm higher. Drill a new upper hinge-cup hole near the new top edge. Keep the existing lower hinge hole where possible. Reposition the cabinet-side hinge mounting plates to align with the doors. Apply matching edge banding or finish to the newly cut top edges. CURRENT DOOR — 45 cm NEW DOOR — 36 cm Important: Shorten both cabinet doors by removing 9 cm from the top, not the bottom. The existing handle holes and bottom edges must remain unchanged so the handle-to-bottom spacing stays consistent with the other kitchen cabinets. Looking for a woodworker who can make me a collapsible walnut wooden plank xmas tree. See images for inspiration. I have 16x lengths of walnut timber in my garage for this project. 8x of those are 450x32x32mm, 8x of them are 410x32x32mm. Ideally this xmas tree is completely collapsible, and uses the timber as a feet base as well. I'm thinking that it should have a stainless steel rod/threaded rod that goes through all the planks and into the feet. This job might need some back and forth design work with me :) You'll need to come and pick up the timber from Bondi.

I'm looking for a cabinetmaker, joiner or custom-furniture maker to design and build a low open shelving unit to sit behind a freestanding sofa in my apartment in Erskineville. The piece will act as a room divider and display shelf. It should resemble a vintage Danish/mid-century teak low bookcase, with open asymmetrical compartments similar to the attached references. Approximate dimensions: - 1950mm wide - 300mm deep - 570mm high Design requirements: - Open shelving visible and accessible from both sides - No doors, drawers or back panel - Mix of differently sized rectangular and square compartments - Space for coffee-table books, records, candles and decorative objects - Straight architectural outer frame - No visible legs - Warm teak or walnut appearance to complement an existing vintage teak cabinet - Matte or low-sheen finish - All faces, edges and internal surfaces must be properly finished, as the unit will be visible from both rooms Curved appearance created using CNC-cut or router-cut flat panels; no bent lamination required. We have a young toddler, so stability is important. Because the unit will not sit against a wall, is it possible to have the base solid. I'm thinking a high-quality prefinished walnut-look furniture board. Budget is flexible depending on material and construction proposal. I’m happy to simplify the curved details to keep it affordable.
