Do yourself a favour and hire Andrew. Honestly he saved me money by helping me source a cheaper supplier for the wallpaper I wanted. Then he measured up the room for me do I ordered the right amount. Wallpaper hanging
Experts on Airtasker can easily hang wallpaper in your chosen room. The wallpaper hanging service starts with the wallcovering installer arriving at your location and preparing your walls (such as removing decor, electric outlet covers, or furniture that can disrupt the process). For your walls, the Tasker can also smoothen it with sandpaper, clean with soap and water, and apply primer for protection.
Once that stage is over, your Tasker proceeds to doing measurements to determine how much wallpaper the room or area needs. Then, they can go cutting the wallpaper into strips while taking note of the recorded measurements and leaving a bit of excess for trimming purposes.Â
The wallpaper hanging process itself will depend on the type of wallpaper you have. Your hired fitter can paste the wall or the actual paper or perform a peel-and-stick procedure.Â
They can smoothen the paper out utilising a paperhanging brush, going from the centre outwards to remove any creases. A level will make sure that the strips are properly aligned. Spotted any excess paper? Your specialist can cut it down using a trimming knife. But if you’re getting a pre-pasted wallpaper instead, the Tasker may need to soak the strips in lukewarm water for a few minutes or according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Then, they can either let it sit for a bit to activate the paste or go straight to placing the paper onto your walls.
Wallpaper repair
Unpleasant rips and punctures, loose and peeling edges, or surfacing air bubbles? It’s normal to experience wear-and-tear eventually, especially if you factor in exposure to moisture, humidity, or sharp objects.
Before you decide to totally remove your wallpaper, a quick repair might be more ideal. Your Tasker will use effective tools and materials to install patches covering rips or tears, inject wallpaper adhesives eliminating bubbles, or reglue any loose seams. Your expert can even offer tips to keep your new covering’s longevity.
Wallpaper removal
How would you know if your wallpaper is up for complete changing? If it’s covered in moulds or mainly lacking in flair, it’s best to have them removed entirely. Your specialist can rely on soap and water, a putty knife for scraping off, a stripper solution, or a steamer to help loosen the adhesive.Â
