Hi I tried changing my taps but the water keeps on flowing even without on and off Wall tap in laundry I have removed the old spindle and washer but attaching new one doesn’t work

We are getting either hot water or cold water in our shower taps. For eg. When turning the cold tap, instead of progressively getting increasing water pressure, nothing happens and then at some stage, you get a strong stream of cold water. There is likely a problem with the pressure valve. This needs to be fixed in two showers.
