Please read to the end. I’ve already paid once for this job & am now stuck trying to recover the remainder of my belongings. Approx 2m³ of essentials remain at my previous rental on the SC. They were meant to be collected by a removalist on AirTasker who has now gone MIA after partial delivery. These items aren’t large, but are necessary: my cat’s tree & toys (she’s struggling to settle), microwave, clothes horse, stools to sit on, stick vacuum, treadmill pad, free-weights, yoga mat, wobble board, ring light, bins, etc.—nothing bulky or needing disassembly. I’m living out of boxes, on an air bed, with no seating, no way to hang washing or vacuum mess & no way to heat food. It’s deeply uncomfortable. The original removalists: • Arrived 5 hrs late (at 20:30) with a ¾ truck & didn’t inform me I’d be sharing • Tried to Tetris everything into a space clearly too small, making loud ph calls disturbing neighbourhood in the early hours of morn • Left me with 1 hr 45 mins sleep before a 13-hr solo drive to Sydney • Repeated the same chaos the next night unloading at 02:30 • Broke the back door at my old place • Lost the feet to my couch, ripped it, broke my TV cabinet (all furniture under 6 mths old) • Disassembled bed after I stated on Ad specifically not to—they accepted the job on that basis—I now can’t reassemble it & have no bed • Pressured me to release funds by threatening to keep my house keys (they still have them)—I’ve since arranged a spare set so someone else can access • Promised to return, fix the door & deliver the rest, but delayed daily with “tomorrow” or “maybe next week”—now saying “it’s not worth their time” The place must be cleaned for real estate & new tenants ASAP. I’ve spent what I budgeted, so the most I can offer is ~$700. This has left me depleted. I just need help moving this last load to Sydney to restore some normality.
