What do babysitting services include?
Babysitting services include several tasks such as changing the diaper, preparing the baby’s meals and feeding them, ensuring they take their afternoon nap. If specified, and other services like administering any medication as necessary, bathing them and putting a new change of clothes on them as needed.
Diaper Changing
The babysitter disposes soiled diapers and changes them with new ones. Any cleaning and disinfecting of the baby will be done as well before fitting a fresh diaper. Babysitters will also perform any clean up as necessary if the baby left any messes. Be sure to provide the needed cleaning equipment as well as disinfectant, baby soap and detergent.
Preparing and Feeding Meals
Should the babysitter’s hours reach any feeding times, babysitters will prepare meals and patiently feed your babies. Be sure to have the appropriate food ready for them to prepare and feed to your babies. Babysitters will disinfect baby bottles and prepare formula and prepare the cutlery and flatware before proceeding to feed your bundles of joy. Cleanup after feeding is also part of the service, and the utensils, flatware and bottles will be put away.Â
Playtime with your Babies
Before taking your babies to their cribs or beds for naptime, some babysitters may engage your babies in a short play session. Babysitters can place them in their play crib and play with them using their favourite toys. If your children are toddlers, the babysitter can engage them in simple games using their toys and even read them a story to prepare them for naptime. Â
Preparing for Naptime
Babysitters will take your baby to their cribs or beds for naptime at the time you specify. They will patiently rock or lull them to sleep and ensure they are safely tucked in. You can provide some items to help your babies sleep, like a music box or mobile that plays a soft lullaby. Babysitters will remain with your baby as they nap and periodically check on them. Should they rouse from the nap due to a wet diaper, the babysitter will change their diapers straight away.
Other Services
Other babysitting services can include bathing and changing the clothes of your babies as necessary. If they have any medications, the babysitter can administer these to them. Be sure to advise them of the dosage and have their medications ready. Some babysitters may offer to buy the baby food or formula for their meal times during the day if you’ve run out of these items.
