When you book wedding entertainment for your reception through Airtasker, you can expect your entertainer to provide the equipment and skills needed to liven up your party. The exact inclusions will vary depending on the kind of entertainment you’re looking for, your location and wedding date, if your venue can provide some of the equipment necessary (e.g. a sound system or tables), and the Tasker themselves. 

In general, though, you can expect the following when you book wedding entertainment through Airtasker. 

Musicians

Serenade your guests with an evening of music! Our platform can help you find soloists, acoustic singers, live bands, singing waiters, DJs, and more. These kinds of entertainers typically bring their own sound systems with them, but if you are providing your own, make sure you get the speakers checked before the big day.

Dancers

Airtasker can help you find dancers in minutes! You can post a request for fire dancers, traditional dancers (to better reflect you or your partner’s culture), or even surprise your guests by performing as a couple! You can find nearby dance instructors via our platform. 

Photo Booth

Photo booths serve two purposes: to entertain your guests by letting them take pictures with each other (and some fun props) and to document your special day in a casual, candid way. Hiring an entertainment company or booking performers directly

Entertainment companies (agencies) give you one point of contact for several acts, handle contracts, and can usually send a replacement if a performer is unwell. The trade-off is that you may have less say over exactly who turns up, and the agency’s margin is built into the price.

Booking performers directly lets you talk to the people who’ll actually perform, see their own reviews and videos, and agree details with them. You’ll need to coordinate each act yourself and ask what their backup plan is if they can’t make it.

On Airtasker you can do either. Individual performers and entertainment companies can both make offers on your task. Whichever you choose, confirm the performers’ names, set times, equipment and backup arrangements in writing.
