We are planning to order a pergola from Pergolux. Apparently it takes between 6 to 8 weeks to get here so we think install only likely in Feb. We will need some concrete placed for the footings. We will need someone who has assembled and installed a pergola before. I’ve reduced the budgeted amount, as we can more easily increase the amount if detailed cost works out higher than trying to get funds refunded if it works out less. Happy to negotiate.

This is another separate job we would like quoted. We have an outdoor pergola area where we sit under with tables and chairs. Above it is an upstairs observation deck so the roof below is currently made from timber planks. It looks good but it is old now and we want to redo it and make sure everything is safe and compliant. Ideally we would like to make a few changes at the same time. We would like the structure widened to better align with the house roof and also extended slightly in length to align with the house roof line. At the moment the stairs run up through the middle of the deck which is awkward as we have tables on both sides. We would prefer the stairs to be relocated to one end so the main deck area can become a long uninterrupted seating and table space. If possible we would also like the deck to be made waterproof. Right now it is similar to a timber jetty with gaps between the boards so if you are sitting underneath it you get wet. The goal is for the area below to be fully weatherproof. We are also open to ideas for the upper level roof or enclosure. If there is a wind rated option even for part of it we would like to explore that. Possibilities could include a semi permanent gazebo style structure with a 90 degree crank operated louvre system or alternatively a shade sail setup with posts at the corners. We are open to suggestions and happy for you to propose what you think would work best structurally and practically.

One clear corrugated panel is cracked/aging and needs to be securely fixed or replaced to prevent leaks and improve weather protection. Timber beams are already in place. We plan to get a large pergola, (well, in fact, three connected pergola areas), in our backyard. The structure would need to be attached to the house, either through a flyover system or by attaching to the fascia. It is a flat skillion roof sloping upwards (away from the house) so gutters and drainage are an issue. We have found a carpenter, but they require drawings showing exactly how this would work, ( in terms of the existing roof/rafters/beams etc.) to work from. I need an architect/draft person/builder who can do this so the carpenter knows exactly what to do. There are a couple of ways it could be achieved and need someone to look at the house to work out the best way to complete this. I have included a few pictures. The last is of the existing backyard. Three are computer generated concept drawings giving a rough indication of what it would look like (we have made some changes since then, but it gives you an approximate idea). The first is a hand drawn plan showing dimensions. I do have full house plans, and plans suitable for the council(deed to comply) available. BTW , as you can see from the photo of the home as it is, the existing goal in the center would be removed as part of the project. Someone with a builder’s license, I.e. A registered builder,prepared to submit for council building approval, would be ideal.
