The lock on this gate is faulty. Sometimes jams, sometimes key turns in lock without unlocking gate. Either repair or replace

I would like an old door handle to be fixed as the screw that keeps it secure to the rod has lost its ability to tighten and remain tight. This is an old 1950s bathroom door with the inner cartridge that lock is a skeleton key and that also needs to be fitted for the bottom lock to work to lock the door for privacy Photos are now attached
