Bought a gate lock from Bunnings and started installing but failed to get the task completed

Lock mechanism on front door has stopped working, repaired a few months ago but the issue has returned, likely needs full replacement this time. Door handle has broken off an internal door. On one side only. But I think this is the second time this has happened so I’d like it fixed really well this time which may mean full replacement or a different type of door handle.
