We’re seeking an experienced landscaper or small team to refresh our backyard in Malvern East and create a cohesive, lush and practical outdoor space. We want to retain the colourful fence mural and work with the existing layout Scope of work: 1. Deck and steps • Inspect boards and supports, repair or replace damaged timber. • Clean, prepare, sand as needed, then oil/stain the deck and steps for a consistent natural finish. 2. Lawn • Assess patchiness, including shade, soil and drainage. • Prepare, level and repair or replace with suitable natural turf. 3. Plants and garden beds • Weed, tidy and thin existing planting. • Retain suitable established plants and add cohesive, lush greenery suited to the conditions. • Simplify pots and use layered planting to soften the space. • Clean and refresh concrete planters; quote any repairs or refinishing. • Prioritise low maintenance and suitability for a young child and dog. 4. Lighting • Install warm, subtle lighting to highlight plants and the fence. • Include concealed lighting beneath the proposed bench and, where practical, the deck steps. • Include suitable outdoor fittings, concealed cabling and any required electrician. 5. Built-in bench • Build a timber bench beneath the mural between the concrete planters. • Incorporate the existing low concrete trough/base if suitable. • Match the deck finish and allow for concealed lighting underneath. Ideally, one person or team will manage the project and coordinate any additional trades. Please provide examples of similar work, availability and an indicative breakdown of labour, materials and rubbish removal, including exclusions and whether a site inspection is required for a firm quote. I’m after a naturalistic, Ian Barker–style feel, not anything formal or overdesigned. The ground should be soft green groundcover (e.g. native violet or Dichondra repens) over a free-draining base, with three small, irregular creek-style stones (200–300 mm) half-sunk into the groundcover for occasional footing. Stones should feel incidental, not like a path. No wall features, trellises or vertical elements. Planting should pull back slightly from the door threshold for drainage and access. Overall goal: calm, organic, understated, and very tidy once established.

see image. i have approx 25sqm of existing red brick paving laid in sand on crush rock base. The paving has moved and is uneven and thus needs to be re-laid on similar base. When relaying, i am requesting additional 600mm wider ( see image ) to be laid to assist with making the path more usable. We require a contractor to attend a recently completed construction site and complete a general tidy-up of the outdoor areas to make presentable. The site was finished a few months ago and requires attention to improve visual appeal and ensure the grounds look clean and well-maintained. Hey!! We are completing a renovation project and have just had the front and rear gardens lightly scraped back and ready for garden beds. Nothing fancy - just length of treated pine plinth so we can plant out and fill with bark or mulch. Doesn't need to be spectacular - but looking for a neat finish to help tidy the garden up. There are 3 x Areas. The front yard, the side and the rear. We will supply ALL timber and material - but just needing a hand getting it looking nice. Also - on the side/underneath the deck in the rear - it is open/exposed and we wouldn't mind either plinth or decking applied to the wall to hide this part underneath the deck. All in all - just needing a helping with some very basic landscaping. Allocating $400 for the day - I couldn't imagine it taking longer than 5-6 hours tops as the plinth is in spans of 5.4m You'll need to use own tools - house is vacant/unattended so looking for someone to help just get it done - and get it done right.
