I need an experienced metalworker or welder to repair the tubular steel frame on a vintage Mies van der Rohe–style cantilever chair. One of the lower joints has come apart completely and needs to be re-brazed, TIG welded, or soldered back together securely. The frame is chrome-plated tubular steel. What I need: • Repair the separated tubular joint • Re-braze or TIG weld (whichever is most appropriate for thin-wall tubing) • Finish the repair cleanly so the join looks neat • Optional: buff / polish the chrome around the repair Photos attached for reference. You’ll need experience working with thin tubular steel (bike frames, furniture frames, stainless tube work, etc.). The metal is not cracked — the joint has simply separated. An office chair we have been waiting on has been delivered but it is in a wooden crate that requires someone with tools to open it. It is very very secure and am looking for a handyman type person available asap to come and open it for us and remove the packaging/wood etc and take it with them.
