Hi, I need help removing a broken alternator mounting bolt and a stuck screw extractor from my 2007 Honda Accord (2.4L automatic). Here are the details: • The top alternator mounting bolt (M8 × 1.25 × ~100mm) snapped inside the engine block. • A #2 screw extractor (approx. M6–M8 size) is currently stuck inside the broken bolt. • The extractor is partially exposed (around 2–3mm visible) but the tip is rounded/stripped — normal pliers or tap wrench cannot grip it anymore. • I’ve already tried: • Drilling with 3.0 mm bit, • WD-40 + heat, • Locking pliers (no movement). • The extractor is not broken inside, just seized. The goal: 👉 Remove the extractor safely (without damaging the threads). 👉 Then extract or re-tap the original bolt hole if needed. Tools needed may include: • Extractor removal tools / cobalt bits / welding setup (if required). • Tap & die set (M8 × 1.25) for thread repair. • Portable heat gun or small torch. I can provide access to power, lighting, and basic tools (wrenches, sockets, etc.). The car is not drivable, parked on a flat driveway in [insert your suburb here, e.g. Villawood or Oatlands]. Flexible with time — prefer someone experienced in bolt extraction or thread repair.
