Hi, I need a qualified mechanic to carry out a thorough pre-purchase inspection of a 1996 Toyota Corolla (automatic, ~146,000 km) on my behalf. I won’t be present, so I’ll need a detailed written report, photos, and a follow-up phone call to discuss the findings before I commit to buying. Please check and report on the following: • Engine & Cooling: oil leaks, head gasket signs, condition of belts/hoses, cooling system (radiator, water pump). • Transmission: fluid condition, any signs of slipping/harsh shifts. • Suspension/Steering: shocks, CV boots/joints, control arm bushes, tie rods. • Brakes & Tyres: pad/rotor condition, tyre tread depth & date codes. • Electrical: warning lights, battery/charging, lights, windows, A/C, heater. • Rust/Body: underbody, wheel arches, sills, floor pan. • Interior: roof liner, seats, seatbelts. • Test drive: smooth idle, acceleration, braking, steering feel. • OBD scan (if possible): fault codes.
